April Wenzel, BSW Intern
I’m April Wenzel, a Bachelor of Social Work intern currently completing my field placement at Willow Tree LCSW Inc.
As a social work student, I am developing a foundation in person-centered care, advocacy, and trauma-informed practice. My experience includes conducting biopsychosocial assessments, supporting clients through intake services, connecting individuals with community resources, and providing case management support. I have a special interest in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, family challenges, and those seeking guidance in accessing community resources and services. I believe everyone deserves to feel empowered and supported on their journey toward healing and growth.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy exploring national parks with my family, spending time in nature, and creating handcrafted candles. Whether I’m discovering a new trail or working on a creative project, I value opportunities to slow down and be present.

Rose Sosa, APCC
I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) graduate of Grand Canyon University and a retired Army National Guard soldier. My clinical approach is trauma-informed, veteran-focused, and grounded in collaboration, empathy, and respect. I believe healing is most effective when it is a shared journey between client and counselor, honoring each individual’s lived experiences and strengths. Yo hablo espanol.
I bring experience working with residential and crisis populations, supporting individuals through complex and high-acuity challenges. My clinical interests include PTSD recovery, reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, and addressing interpersonal conflict. I am especially passionate about supporting veterans and individuals impacted by trauma, helping them build resilience, restore a sense of safety, and move toward meaningful change.
Born and raised in San Diego, California, I am proud of my Mexican and Guatemalan heritage, which informs my culturally responsive and holistic approach to care. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring new foods, experiences that help keep me grounded and connected.
